RP - Strange Storms (1988) (OPM)

RP Band - Strange Storms
2nd Album of RP band (aka. Rock Project), released 1988. This Legendary band composed of Bob Aves (Guitarist) and (Rock Vocalist) Goff Macaraeg.

"Damsel of Distress", "You" & "Starlight Blue" Were among the hits being airplayed by NU107 during the 1980's. Since the release of their 1st album Street Legal (1986), OPM Rock has never been the same. Anyone who listens to their music is being transported 10 years ahead of Rock music, because of Bob's guitar sound. And lyricist / singer Goff made it possible that his high vocal range made us think this is a "Foreign Band".

Warrant - Dog Eat Dog (1992)

Dog Eat Dog - was the third studio album by American rock band Warrant. It was released on August 25, 1992 on the Columbia label of Sony Music. The album peaked at number 25 on The Billboard 200.

The album achieved "gold" status in the United States, but was significantly less successful in a commercial sense than the band's first two albums. It is, nonetheless, regarded by critics as Warrant's strongest record. The tone and style of the album could be said to be the last stage of the glam metal style during the 1980s. It is also the last album to feature all five original members.

The song "Bitter Pill" which was the second single features an operatic interlude, performed in German by the "Moron Fish & Tackle Choir".

Trivia:
The makeshift in Bitter Pill's "Choir" part consisted of security guards, engineers, janitors, and others who had been available at or near the recording studio.

The record's second single was "I Saw Red", a power ballad inspired by a true story of betrayal. Identity Crisis - Discography (OPM) + Rare Videos

Identity Crisis - Formed by Resty Cornejo in 1986, they became one of the pioneering alternative bands in the Philippines. Their signature sound, catchy melodies, gothic outfits and mysterious identities has made the band an underground favorite garnering fans from all over the country. Releasing their first album in 1987, “Tale of Two”, has reshaped Philippine music. From appearing on TV variety shows to performing live concerts nationwide, Identity Crisis, was nominated in the prestigious ALIW Awards for Best New Artist.

Their second album released in 1991, “Water Came Running”, earned a tremendous amount of respect from their musical colleagues, mainly for the bands “ahead of their time” songwriting and arrangements, which until this very day, still sounds fresh from the studios. After appearing in several compilation albums, Identity Crisis, packed up their instruments and called it a day. Several producers have approached the members, hoping to spark a reunion concert but there are no immediate plans. Currently the members of Identity Crisis are involved in their personal careers in the field of architecture, culinary, the airline industry, broadcasting and information technology. In 2006, Rivermaya, released an all-cover album containing songs from the 80's, in which two (2) of Identity Crisis' songs, My Sanctuary and Sumigaw, Umawit ka, were featured. Identity Crisis, to this very day, is considered a major and important influence in the alternative and underground music scene in the Philippines. Their record label is Dyna Records Philippines (1986-1991).

Buddy 'Boy' Arceo - Vocals

According to Resty Cornejo's Interview (See Tempo June 29, 2019):
"Lenny is a natural composer. Her pop music sensibilities, great melodies and riffs were the backbone of Identity Crisis's music."

"Eventually, we decided to add a bit of progressive rock to our music as an experiment. I was, at the time, influenced by Rush and Yes"

"We were also looking towards exploring ethnic themes, much like the works of Penpen and Asin."

After they disbanded 1992...

"At that point, it was like the end for me. I tried jamming a few times with some buddies but I lost my passion for music. I was really devastated when the band ended. My love for music came back only years after."

"For the rest of the band, some pusued the same path (Abaya and Llapitan joined Lokal Brown in the 1990's before going on to form Mariya's Mistress). I totally lost contact with them, literally. We re-united as friends again only in the mid-2000's."

"I have been living in Hong Kong since 1993, working as a design architect."

Anak Bayan - Anak Bayan (1977) (OPM)

Anak Bayan - originally released in 1977 [although recorded in 1973], this collection shows the influence of Western Psychedelic Rock, and culture, but has a truly unique approach, a classic slice of 'Pinoy Rock'! Psych legends and underground gypsy artist ANAK BAYAN. This is a white rabbit style effort with very Psychedelic leads, movements and fuzz. A classic and must be heard to be described, Pinoy Rock and Jeepney Rock were the local names for this Psych rock movement. Edmond Fortuno's previous band D'swooners were so big in Japan and his wild drumming style really stood out from the rest that he eventually caught the attention of the Plastic Ono band who offered him a drumming stint... Unfortunately, he had to go home. These songs are a collection of recordings that were done in 1973 and were lost for almost 4 years until the tapes resurfaced in '77. It was then mixed and released under A&W records. This is the only album this supergroup ever came out with, and all the original members, except for the sax player, have passed away.

Not common to everybody, (Bosyo) aka Edmond Fortuno was the one who coined "Juan Dela Cruz", together with Mike Hanopol, Bo Razon, Bing Labrador, and Alex Cruz - they were the original Juan Dela Cruz. Wally Gonzales and Pepe Smith came in after a year or so. After Juan Dela Cruz, he formed his own band, Anakbayan, a progressive rock band who is behind the hits "Pagbabalik ng Kwago" and "Sirang Plaka", released 1978 as singles. Although Bosyo is mild mannered by nature, he is a beast when he is in his element. He is the beat behind Mike Hanopol's "Laki sa Layaw"  and other rock hits such as "Bonggahan" and "Nosi Balasi" of Sampaguita.

Unfortunately, Bosyo succumbed to meningitis in 2002 and was survived by his wife, his mom and two kids.
Anak Bayan (1971-1977):
Edmond Fortuno (deceased) - drum,
Sonny Tolentino (deceased) - bass guitar,
Alex Cruz - saxophone,
Bing Labrador (deceased) - keyboard,
Vic Naldo (deceased) - lead guitar.
